Malaga - birthplace of Pablo Picasso

Malaga is a harbour town with mediterranean climate and the 6th largest city in Spain with 570,000 inhabitants. It boasts historic buildings and exceptional sights. The special about Malaga, the port is located directly from the city center. Everyone can go for a walk right on the harbor and marvel at the boats and ships they have built up to the quay wall. Daily boat tours are offered there directly. Besides the harbor are a total of 15 kilometers of fine sandy beaches. Only a few hundred meters away there is a small mountain. On top of it there is the visitable ruins of the Castillo de Gibralfaro Castle. From up there you have not just a sensational view of the mediterranean sea, the harbor, the mountains of Sierra de Mijas and the city of Malaga itself, you can even see the imposing bullring (Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta). This is the largest venue in Spain. The arena has been around since 1876 and is considered a cultural asset of Spain.

Malaga has a university and a well-attended nightlife in the center with many bars, small discos and restaurants. Anyone strolling through the streets and alleyways realizes that Malaga is a happy and lively city. In Pablo Picasso's birthplace there is a permanent exhibition of original paintings by the artist. From the Moorish era, there is still a royal palace in Malaga. There are many cultural events and a wide range of museums throughout the year. In addition to the famous football club FC Malaga, there is the only airport in Andalusia, it is located near the city of Malaga.
